Frequently Asked Questions

Before starting the detox ask yourself these questions:

  • Do I like vegetables?
  • Am I willing to cook?
  • Am I in a good state of mind?

Here are some questions you might have before or during the detox:

What can I eat as a snack

Snacking is not recommended. It’s best to keep 3-4 hours between meals to stimulate autophagy (the healing process). However, if you need to break the fast, opt for vegetable-based snacks like raw chopped veggies (carrots, peppers, cucumbers, celery), or fruit: berries, a small apple. Start with a glass of water (warm or cold), and add lemon for flavour.

How many meals can I eat a day?

You can eat 3-4 meals a day, with a minimum of a 3-hour break between each meal. For example: 9 am, 12 pm, 3 pm, and 6 pm or 9 am, 1 pm, 5 pm

What can I do if I have cravings?

A 2-week detox is a true test of willpower and determination, but it’s important to remember it’s a short-term effort and well worth it.
Your brain may exaggerate the taste of foods you’re craving. Try to distract yourself with activities like a walk or listening to a good podcast.
Make yourself a tasty herbal tea or infused water with ingredients like lemon, lime, ginger, and ice.

I don’t like water. What else can I drink?

Water is essential nutrient, so getting used to drinking it is important. Try infused water with cucumber and mint, lemon or lime, or ginger. Warm water may also be more acceptable; adding lemon, lime, or ginger can improve the flavour.
Drinking sparkling water is another option, and herbal teas are also a great alternative.

What happens if I eat something I shouldn’t during detox?

Eating non-vegetable foods during detox isn’t the “end of the world.” However, it can slow down the cleansing and healing processes, making the detox less effective.
Remember even small efforts will yield some results, so don’t be discouraged.

If I eat something I shouldn’t, do I have to extend my detox?

The two-week Detox is designed to be most effective within that timeframe. If you feel motivated, you can extend it, but don’t punish yourself. If this is your first detox, allow yourself time to adjust and focus on progress, not perfection

I don’t like herbal teas. What else can I drink?

Herbal teas are optional, though they support detox by providing antioxidants and health benefits. If you don’t like them, focus on other beverages like water, infused water, or fizzy water. You can drink fruit teas but be mindful of the sugar content. Also, green tee is great during Detox because of it antioxidant properties.

I don’t have a blender. What else can I make for breakfast?

A blender isn’t essential, though it’s helpful for making smoothies or purees. Without one, you can prepare chopped or grated vegetables, some are easily mashed with a fork i.e. avocado.

What should I do if I feel like I’m going to faint?

If you feel faint, get some fresh air and drink water. You shouldn’t feel like fainting while fasting for 3-4 hours.
If the feeling persists for more than a day, seek medical advice, as it could be due to another health issue.

Do I need to do intermittent fasting while on detox?

To some extent, we all do intermittent fasting daily, mainly overnight when we are asleep. The detox plan incorporates intermittent fasting naturally and the fasting period is extended to 12+ hours between your last meal of the day and your first meal the next day.

*DISCLAMER*

Please note it is not a life style diet! It is a cleansing and fasting program and it should only be done for a short period of time 2-6 weeks max. The aim is to remove the toxins from the body. The excess weight loss should not make any damage to the muscles (you should avoid extensive training during the two weeks veg only period).

Testimonials

The detox was bloody hard but yes it definitely worked. By the 3rd week I definitely felt better in myself with more energy
The hardest bit for me (apart from craving milk) was what to have for breakfast.

Chris

I  would say the things that worked for me is eating between 9am and 6pm only and eating my main meal at lunchtime
When my tummy got used to it the juicing was great too.

Chris

This detox though me better eating habits. I will be continuing the first and the last week on daily basis with occasionally adding animal products and carbs (maybe weekends only).

Anna

I enjoyed the challenge and it gave me mental strength. I have now motivation to live more healthy and active life to maintain what I achieved during the detox weeks.
